Oh, do I ever love TV Land. Lets me catch up on all the classics, when TV was more than just mindless sex, violence, and Hannity. Shows like Leave It To Beaver and Good Times, meant for a wholesome nuclear family...to watch in their nuclear bunker over fear of the Russians. But perhaps my favourite is Diff'rent Strokes, with all the adventures of Arnold, Willis (what was he talkin' bout?) and Mr. Drummond, a proud native of the subject of our fourth installment of the CCC's 28-part series, Better Know A- Lberta!

Today's feature is the riding of Lethbridge: the fightin' Hurricanes!

The riding is home to the Lethbridge Viaduct, the largest rail bridge in Canada, crossing the Oldman River. The 300+ foot trestle bridge is also known as the "High Level Bridge," and has been a town symbol since 1909. Hey Lethbridge, how about you let the citizens name the bridge for a true city hero? The Bain Bridge? The Brockhouse Viaduct? Or keep it simple and just call it The Colbert híd...just so long as its not named for that a-hole Zrínyi! Start up the counter!

Lethbridge is also home to the University Of Lethbridge, home of the mighty Pronghorns...the fightin' Horns! After much evaluation, UL renamed all of their athletic teams to the "fierce" and "intimidating" pronghorn antelope, after being slaughtered time and time again by division rivals when known as the mighty Lethbridge...Chinooks. As in the Chinook winds. And you thought the Queen's Golden Gaels or the St. Thomas Tommies had sh**ty nicknames.

And finally, Lethbridge is home to Fort Hamilton...or known to those who want to party, Fort Whoop-Up! Whoop-Up was a whiskey post in the 1870s, notorious for selling guns, flying the American flag, and for producing the colon-clobbering "Bug Juice," made from ethanol, ginger, peppers, tobacco and molasses. These mavericks were so maverick-y, the RCMP had to be formed just to stop 'em, and even today, Lethbridge's flag still looks oddly familiar...

And which MP doesn't ride to the beat of just one drum for his constituents? Why, it's none other than Conservative MP Jim Hillyer, who has served the riding since 2011. Contact MP Hillyer here to ensure all Colbertans get theirs...so I'll have yours, and I'll also have mine!
